Occupational Safety and Health Resource Locator
Overview
Twenty-four (24) states are covered entirely by the federal OSHA program.
Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) operates under an approved plan with the U.S. Department of Labor to retain jurisdiction over occupational safety and health issues within Arizona, excluding mining operations, Indian Reservations and federal employees. This jurisdiction encompasses approximately 1.8 million employees and 104,000 public and private establishments. Given the large scope of responsibility, ADOSH focuses its efforts in four specific areas: safety and health compliance, consultation and training, elevators and boilers. ADOSH compliance activities consist of conducting unannounced safety and health inspections at workplaces throughout Arizona to determine whether employers are complying with the Arizona Occupational Safety and Health Law and standards adopted under that statute.
